Serfenta at Srebrna 1 – Grand Opening

Since August, our new headquarters have been renovated. Thanks to the help of friends, sponsors and donors, we managed to add some glitter to a rather neglected place at 1 Srebrna Street (Silver Street) in Cieszyn. It is a place with a rich cultural history – here was the famous Galeria Szara (Grey Gallery), later on the Ul Kultury (Hive of Culture).

We waited a long time, and finally that evening came.

On Saturday at 7 p.m. we were looking forward to your arrival at 1 Srebrna Street, in silver creations and in the flash of headlights. We want to thank you very much, we are very happy that you were with us! It was an evening full of emotions and talks about friendship.

We were accompanied by: a wonderful layer cake, which was a gift from the City of Cieszyn (thank you to the Mayor Staszkiewicz and the Mayor Kasztura), champagne from our friends from the Korbmarkt basketry festival in Lichtenfels, great dance music prepared for us by Artur Gacek and the flash of photographer Šimon Horák. We had also a special guests even from Scotland!

At the same time, it was an opportunity to celebrate Serfenta’s 13th birthday, it’s difficult for us to believe that it’s been so many years. The presence of the people who founded Serfenta 13 years ago – our friends – was of great value to us. The most important to us are you – people, friends, colleagues, participants of our activities! In a wonderful atmosphere dances and conversations went on long at night.

What will happen in the new place? We plan to create a workshop center on a European scale, organize exhibitions, host basket makers from abroad, and first of all – work every day, organizing a lot of basketry activities throughout Poland and beyond.

Stay with us, it’s the best when you are! Come to us for study visits, workshops, coffee and conversations, share ideas for joint activities with us. We announce that from now on you can come with groups to the workshops to our headquarters – 1 Srebrna Street in Cieszyn!

We would lik to thank:

The City Council of Cieszyn, Zakład Budynków Miejskich, Ewa Gołębiowskia from the Castle Cieszyn, companies PSB and LAKMA for providing renovation materials, Bielsko-Białą OWES’s employees, the Tęcza artistic group, to all who physically or financially supported the renovation of our headquarters, all who support our activities and take part in them, Šimon Horák for great photos! And everyone for the gifts and wishes, let it weave!
