Serfenta and Polish basketry known all over the world!

This summer was very intense and eventful for us. We took part in exceptional events and heard so many nice words from you about our work!

For the first time, we were an exhibitor at the Jagiellonian Fair in Lublin, a high-level event where craftsmen and craft lovers meet. Exhibitors are carefully selected there and we were proud to present our masters and sell their baskets. We also ran straw and grass weaving workshops for children and adults.

Just after the Fair, we went to Nowy Tomyśl for the 4th world basketry festival to meet with basket makers from around the world. In previous edition, we organized the conference “Social face of basketry” there, this year we admired woven works from around the world and greeted friends, including the ones from Japan and New Zealand.

In September, we took part, together with our master Grzegorz Gordat, in the 40th Flechtkulturfestival Korbmarkt – a basketry festival in Bavaria in Lichtenfels. It was a great distinction for us, we were invited there with an exhibition and workshops (straw, cattail, willow). Again, we proudly presented baskets of Polish masters, and the mayor of the city was walking with his own kabłącok!
We also participated in a meeting of basket makers from all over the world – from Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Spain and France. It’s great to be part of a large, basketry family! Thank you, Manfred Rauch!

We were also happy to read newspaper headlines in Lichtenfels – Polish potato basket becomes famous! This is how we see a new place of basketry in the modern world – a traditional basket gains a different meaning and recognition and decorates modern interiors, gaining new value in the eyes of designers.

If you want to invite us to your place – for workshops, with an exhibition, to a conference or with baskets of Polish masters – write to us, we will come with pleasure!
