Cat’s Cradle

This ecological cradle is perfect if you want your baby to grow up close to nature. It is wholly handmade out of natural hazel wood from the pristine areas of the Podkarpacie region in Poland. Its traditional shape is ideal for rocking your baby.

The basket will grow up with the child – first as a crib for the infant, then as a toy box for the toddler. It can be also used as a container to store bedroom or bathroom textiles. The cradle is durable and timeless – it will serve a couple of generations. If you want it to be a gift for your child that will accompany him or her for years to come, we can inscribe the name and date of birth on it!

Thanks to its light colours, it will look well in all kinds of interiors in the spirit of good design. You can use its handles to fix it as a hanging cot or a swing. Last but not least, it can become your dog’s or cat’s favourite bed!

The cradle has been woven by Stanisław, aged 70, who learned the skill from his father.

By purchasing this product, you support local basket makers and help protect Polish craft.

the author of this product?

Stanisław

Master Stanisław and his family create hazel baskets. This material is quite unusual and at the same time very pleasant to use – it is very durable and has a beautiful golden hue. A couple of baskets available in our shop have been made of hazel bark: Cat’s Cradles and Hazelnuts. The only tool Stanisław uses to craft his baskets is a knife.

,,Serfenta is an exceptional project integrating generations, combining local patriotism, respect and creative attitude towards crafts, and the ideas of sustainable consumption and slow fashion.,,
