Serfenta is an accredited UNESCO non-governmental organization. We are also awarded the Polish National Commission for UNESCO Certificate of Appreciation for educational activities aimed at implementing the UNESCO Convention for the safeguarding the intangible cultural heritage. We can also boast the “Folk Oscar” for the best research project of 2011: “On the basketry trail of Poland”. In 2017 we succeeded in including the skill of weaving willow baskets called kabłącok from Lucimia on the Polish List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, which is the first step to the international UNESCO list.

In 2018 we received the “KUKBUK Poleca” (KUKBUK recomends) certificate with justification: for steadfast cultivation of craft threatened with oblivion, for the belief in the power of basketry and for the joy of creation that can be seen in every weave of the basket.”

We belong to the prestigious RIDA organisation (The International Network for Crafts Development). RIDA promotes quality handicraft inspired by tradition and adapts it to modern needs. Our membership in this organisation is a great distinction for us, rewarding our activities as a socially responsible institution supporting the development of crafts in Poland and in the world. It also serves as an opportunity for the global promotion of Polish products.
